We Are Here For You: COVID-19 Updates

At Club de Soleil, we care deeply about the well-being and safety of our owners and guests and wanted to provide you with an update on the steps we are taking at the resort to ensure your safety!

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly changed everyone’s lives. That doesn’t stop us from doing everything we can to give our guests the best experience and vacation possible!

We are accepting reservations at the resort for guests and owners to come and stay with us. However, please know that during this time, the resort will only be booked at 50% capacity. We have taken these additional precautions for everyone during COVID-19–

  • The Front Desk and Concierge areas will be fitted with plexiglass acrylic screens and social distance markers are on the floor for everyone’s reference.
  • Keys, lobby access doors, stairway banisters, elevator buttons, desks, door handles, and all other high contact areas will be disinfected regularly by our staff.
  • In your room, we will be placing “Cleaned and Sanitized” stickers in all high contact areas to let you know we got it.
  • Room assignments will be done so in a way that will allow for better social distancing.
  • Enhanced cleaning of the gym.
  • All employees will be participating in ongoing training to ensure health and safety measures are upheld.

Nevada entered Phase Two of reopening on May 29th, since then there have been many positive changes in regards to what we can have open on property. After careful consideration of the Phase 2 plan and guidance from the CDC and state directives, we were able to make these further changes-

  • Our pool and hot tub will be open 24/7 but operating at 50% capacity.
  • Our gym will officially be opening for use.
  • BBQ area will be open for use.

Just recently, the Governor stated that in order for Nevada to stay safe with COVID-19 and remain open it is mandated to wear face coverings in all public areas. This Declaration of Emergency Directive was announced on June 26th, 2020.

With that, all guests must wear face coverings while indoors and while walking around the property. If you are outside and maintaining a 6ft distancing, you are not required to wear one. This is for not only your safety but for everyone at the resort. If you have further questions about the new COVID-19 directive, please click here.

While you are at the resort we recommend you only ride the elevator with people in your party. Please continue to practice social distancing between each other and in all public areas on our property. Such as our walkways, hallways, lobby areas, etc.

We intend to operate as set forth for as long as possible; however, please realize that these are dynamic and rapidly-evolving circumstances that require day-to-day decision making. For our guests, we will commit to waive cancellation penalties or offer full refunds.

All reservations booked having taken advantage of a “non-refundable” offer will have the opportunity to change their travel dates without penalty. All other retail reservations can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 48 hours before your scheduled arrival.

If you need to adjust retail reservations through our Call Center, please contact our Reservation Team at 1-855-386-4658. If you need to adjust a retail reservation made through an online travel agency (OTA) or another third party, please contact them directly.

Rest assured that we will contact you in the event that we are required to further change course due to updated health and safety guidance. Thank you for your continued support and understanding as our team navigates what is truly new ground for all of us. This is a fluid situation with local, state, and federal jurisdictions issuing guidance and/or restrictions continuously.

Club de Soleil wants to thank you for your continued support and love as we do everything we can to provide you with the best vacation possible!

Summer vacation packing tips for Vegas!

In our last blog post, we told you what and how to pack for your children on vacation. Now we turn our attention to you! Often competing with the anticipation of a long-awaited summer visit to Vegas and Club de Soleil, a sunny French-Mediterranean property three miles from the Strip, is the nagging consideration of what and how much to bring. This debate can befuddle even the most seasoned traveler, leaving you to anguish over the consequences of either packing too little or stuffing a suitcase to the exploding point (also known as Going Anaconda).

After scouring the web for helpful tips on the subject, we were surprised to learn packing is more complex than we thought, especially since our own packing practices typically adhere to the following rudimentary three-part formula:

  1. Get suitcase
  2. Open
  3. Put stuff in

Well it turns out there’s so much more to this packing stuff than we would have ever guessed. In researching these helpful suggestions, we learned it was possible to cram more information into a single article than is necessary and have therefore concluded that, when it comes to packing tips, like packing itself less is best.

DO

Roll your clothes

Tightly rolled clothes take up less space than folded ones and are less likely to get deep wrinkles from creases. If you can’t break the lifelong habit of folding your clothes, consider placing them in air compression bags. They squeeze the air out of garments and give you more room in your suitcase.

Carry-on

If you’re traveling light consider the carry-on option instead of checking your bag. It will expedite your immediate departure from the airport after you’ve reached your destination.

Check-in early

Checking in online 24 hours before your flight is also recommendable for saving time at the airport and getting a better seat.

Make a packing list

Start your packing process well ahead of your departure date. Doing so will give you time to purchase any additional items you may need and ensure you won’t forget something important.

Familiarize yourself with the TSA’s liquids rule

The Transportation Security Administration permits you to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces or less per item. The TSA suggests placing these items in a small bag and separating them from your carry-on baggage to facilitate the screening process. Any liquid, aerosol, gel, cream or paste that alarms during screening will require additional screening.

Keep your essentials close

It goes without saying but it’s probably worth repeating to keep your valuable and essential belongings in your carry-on bag, not in your checked luggage. These include your identification, money, credit cards, jewelry, electronics, passport, and other valuables. You should also pack a zippered pouch containing in-flight comfort items such as remedies, tissues, hand wipes, personal hygiene items, earbuds or headphones, and a pen.

Charge it

It is recommended that you charge all electronic devices before reaching the airport. This will keep you from frantically searching for that rare unused outlet if you are running late.

Know your airline’s baggage fee policy

The airlines’ baggage fee policies are nothing if not arbitrary. Knowing them will save you a lot of frustration – and maybe some money.

Pack Snacks

Healthy snacks, that is. Nuts, breakfast bars, fruit, and baby carrots are preferable to chips and other empty calorie choices for keeping you energized on a long flight. Keep hydrated with water and avoid excessive coffee consumption, which is a recipe for dehydration and edginess.

DON’T

Pack More Clothes than You Need

Reducing the number of outfits you pack can significantly lighten your load. Bring neutral colored clothing you can mix and match, and only pack shoes you can wear with multiple outfits.

Bring Things You Can Buy At Your Destination

Save on luggage weight fees by bringing only what you need. Unless you’re going third world, you can safely assume most places have drug and convenience stores that stock simple items that are better left unpacked.

Flash Jewelry and Other Valuables

Or better yet, don’t bring them. Tourists are frequent targets of thieves, and most homeowners’ insurance will not cover the cost of lost or stolen jewelry. If you must bring along your Rolex or diamonds, pack them in your carry-on and not in your checked luggage, which some airlines have a tendency to lose.

Pack Extraneous Gadgets

Not only do they take up valuable room in your personal carry-on, they also require you to pack the items that keep them running (spare batteries, chargers, electrical adapters and converters). Keep it simple. Your precious phone and a laptop or tablet should more than suffice. And really, does anyone need to bring along a toothbrush sanitizer or a hotel door alarm system?

CLUB DE SOLEIL

Club de Soleil evokes the warmth and charm of the French Mediterranean three miles from the world famous Las Vegas Strip. Divided into two distinct properties, Club’s 162 suites offer uncommon space, convenience and privacy. Guests can enjoy two 24-hour pools and hot tubs, two putting greens, a tennis court, a fitness center and complimentary shuttle to the Strip.

Enjoy a romantic Valentine’s Day in Vegas with your sweetheart.

Of all the indentured adjectives forced into descriptive servitude for Las Vegas, romantic isn’t among those that come naturally to mind. It’s only with the imminent arrival of that arrow-shooting cherub that the romantically challenged among us are reminded of our yearly Valentine’s Day obligations.

This of course results in a dash to the nearest internet device and a subsequent Google search for “romantic things to do in Las Vegas.” Well who knew there were so many? This place is romantic up the ying yang, so if you’re lucky enough to be in a happy and fulfilling relationship, your task isn’t to find a way to spend the evening under Cupid’s coercion but to narrow the choices.

Don’t worry – you don’t have to move a mouse. Here at the Club de Soleil blog, we’ve gleaned the contents of page after page after page of lovey-dovey suggestions for your convenience. Only the choicest have made it to this article. The rest is now up to you. Pick and choose your favorites or select all 10 if you’re compulsively ambitious or in the wild throes of fresh love.

And here they are!

MAHANA SPA AT TAHITI VILLAGE

What’s the next best thing to massaging each other? Getting massaged together by someone else. Enjoy a 50-minute couples’ hot stone massage at Mahana Spa, located on the grounds of Tahiti Village, Las Vegas’ very own family friendly, tropical resort paradise.  Contact the spa for pricing and to make a reservation. You’ll be in very good hands.

Massage for two at Mahana Spa!

VENETIAN GONDOLA RIDE

You don’t have to go all the way to Venice to experience a romantic gondola ride. Just head over to The Venetian Hotel, flag down an authentically-garbed gondolier and behold the city of canals Vegas style. That’s amore!

BELLAGIO FOUNTAINS

Rome may be the city of fountains, but how many of them dance like the Bellagio’s? We ask this rhetorically, as a way to elevate the latter’s reputation at the expense of the former and whet your appetite to see this spectacular free water show. This is Vegas, where even fountains are elevated to the level of performance art.

WATCH THE PLANES LAND

Locals know that an invitation to go watch the planes land is a propositional euphemism. If you’re the literal type and actually like watching planes land, there is a place you can go. The north-facing Eastern Avenue parking lot on the south side of McCarran International Airport gives you an unimpeded view of the big airliners bringing in the precious cargo so vital to the Las Vegas economy. There’s nothing saying you can’t break open a bottle of bubbly and steal a kiss. Or, you know, whatever.

THE HIGH ROLLER

Las Vegas never runs out of ways to spin a wheel, but until the opening last year of The High Roller, you could never take one for a ride. The world’s tallest Ferris wheel at 550 feet, The High Roller offers spectacular 360-degree views of the Strip and Las Vegas valley– especially at night. Just say “I will.”

LAS VEGAS STRIP HELICOPER TOUR

If you’d prefer to see Vegas from a bird’s eye view, take the City Lights helicopter tour over the Strip and downtown. It takes just 20 minutes – all the time you’ll need to pop the question. Like, where are we eating?

PARIS HOTEL EIFFEL TOWER RESTAURANT

What would Valentine’s be without a romantic dinner? And what’s more romantic than Paris? If you can’t afford a quick trip to the City of Light, Las Vegas comes to the rescue once again. Just book a reservation at the Paris Hotel’s Eiffel Tower restaurant and you’ll not only get a wonderful view of the Strip but the aforementioned Bellagio fountains as well. Request condescending waiters to complete this delightfully authentic French dining experience.

LAKE MEAD DINNER CRUISE

Take the Lake Mead dinner cruise while you can. If western drought conditions persist much longer, it’s possible the lake will be bone dry by 2020. Until then, all aboard! Just remember: Don’t go swimming after eating.

LOVE CLOUD

As anyone who has ever tried it could probably attest, attaining membership in the Mile High Club comes with certain risks, namely discovery, embarrassment and arrest. We suppose that’s part of the appeal. So what if you’re risk-averse but would still like to get in on the action? Book a flight with Love Cloud. This Las Vegas company not only encourages the practice of midair amore; it also provides the plane. Talk about the friendly skies.

GET MARRIED

Planning on getting married in Las Vegas? You’ll need bureaucratic approval. Waiting for a wedding license at the Clark County Marriage License Bureau may not seem romantic, but if the line is long enough, it may give you enough time to reconsider your decision to spend the rest of your life with the hottie you met at Hakkasan three hours ago.

Try one or more of these and you’ll be in silk pajamas listening to Barry White before the night is through.

Love to all!
