At Club de Soleil, we care deeply about the well-being and safety of our owners and guests and wanted to provide you with an update on the steps we are taking at the resort to ensure your safety!

The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly changed everyone’s lives. That doesn’t stop us from doing everything we can to give our guests the best experience and vacation possible!

We are accepting reservations at the resort for guests and owners to come and stay with us. However, please know that during this time, the resort will only be booked at 50% capacity. We have taken these additional precautions for everyone during COVID-19–

The Front Desk and Concierge areas will be fitted with plexiglass acrylic screens and social distance markers are on the floor for everyone’s reference.
Keys, lobby access doors, stairway banisters, elevator buttons, desks, door handles, and all other high contact areas will be disinfected regularly by our staff.
In your room, we will be placing “Cleaned and Sanitized” stickers in all high contact areas to let you know we got it.
Room assignments will be done so in a way that will allow for better social distancing.
Enhanced cleaning of the gym.
All employees will be participating in ongoing training to ensure health and safety measures are upheld.

Nevada entered Phase Two of reopening on May 29^th, since then there have been many positive changes in regards to what we can have open on property. After careful consideration of the Phase 2 plan and guidance from the CDC and state directives, we were able to make these further changes-

Our pool and hot tub will be open 24/7 but operating at 50% capacity.
Our gym will officially be opening for use.
BBQ area will be open for use.

Just recently, the Governor stated that in order for Nevada to stay safe with COVID-19 and remain open it is mandated to wear face coverings in all public areas. This Declaration of Emergency Directive was announced on June 26^th, 2020.

With that, all guests must wear face coverings while indoors and while walking around the property. If you are outside and maintaining a 6ft distancing, you are not required to wear one. This is for not only your safety but for everyone at the resort. If you have further questions about the new COVID-19 directive, please click here.

While you are at the resort we recommend you only ride the elevator with people in your party. Please continue to practice social distancing between each other and in all public areas on our property. Such as our walkways, hallways, lobby areas, etc.

We intend to operate as set forth for as long as possible; however, please realize that these are dynamic and rapidly-evolving circumstances that require day-to-day decision making. For our guests, we will commit to waive cancellation penalties or offer full refunds.

All reservations booked having taken advantage of a “non-refundable” offer will have the opportunity to change their travel dates without penalty. All other retail reservations can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 48 hours before your scheduled arrival.

If you need to adjust retail reservations through our Call Center, please contact our Reservation Team at 1-855-386-4658. If you need to adjust a retail reservation made through an online travel agency (OTA) or another third party, please contact them directly.

Rest assured that we will contact you in the event that we are required to further change course due to updated health and safety guidance. Described as a giant sandbox for grown-ups, Dig This lets you live out your heavy equipment-operating fantasies in bulldozers and excavators. Following a 30-minute training and orientation session, guests can dig trenches or build large earthen mounds. There are also skill tests, like moving humongous tires or deftly plucking basketballs from their resting place on top of safety cones. Feel what it’s like to be a real construction worker!

SPEED VEGAS

Tired of living life in the slow lane? Get behind the wheel of a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Corvette at Speed Vegas and put the pedal to the metal. Feel the raw power and precise handling of a fire breathing supercar with a thrilling driving experience on one of Las Vegas’s longest racetracks. What a rush!

SIGNA DERBY MACHINE

Mechanical horse racing machines were once a common site at Las Vegas’ free standing race book gambling emporiums, but now there is only one left in the city. Found on the second floor of the D Las Vegas on Fremont Street, the quarter-operated Sigma Derby Machine allows bettors to book action on five mechanical horses. Betting odds range from 2-1 to 200-1. Once you’ve selected your horse, you have 30 seconds to put in your quarter. Then it’s off to the races!

ZAK BAGANS’ THE HAUNTED MUSEUM

Housed in a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a prominent Las Vegas businessman and his family, Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum is a storehouse of the weird and macabre the Ghost Adventures personality has acquired traveling the world for his popular Travel Channel show. Take the mandatory guided tour and see Zak’s “possessions,” some of which are allegedly haunted. The collection even includes personal effects once belonging to infamous serial killers. Visitors beware: The once-abandoned house may still harbor evil spirits and was allegedly the site of satanic rituals in the basement. How many times do we have to say it? Don’t go in the basement!

JOHNSON J-BAR-B STABLES

This private horse ranch and equestrian center offers a whimsical visual feast just 20 minutes northwest of downtown Las Vegas. Sheet metal cowboys and cowgirls sit atop various structures, bombs and cutout metal flowers decorate the side gate, silhouettes of horses and sunflowers dot the fences and interior buildings, and old farm implements and horseshoes have been repurposed for maximum esthetic appeal. Built in 1961, the once far-flung stables have been reeled in and overtaken by the city. They are a reminder of a time when Las Vegas was not the runaway metropolis it has become, but an open desert with a patchwork population.

SEVEN MAGIC MOUNTAINS

Art to some, painted rocks to others, Seven Magic Mountains is a series of stacked neon boulders that rise some 35 feet above the desert floor 20 minutes south of Las Vegas. Like all public works of art, Seven Magic Mountains is in the eye of the boulder – er, beholder.

KISS MONSTER MINI-GOLF COURSE

Located inside the Rio Hotel and Casino, this KISS-themed mini golf course gives duffers the opportunity to roll a putt up the 15-foot tongue and into the gaping maw of Gene Simmons. Added bonus: a live DJ playing KISS music while you play.

MERMAID SWIM SHOW

If swimming with the fishes isn’t high on your bucket list, perhaps you’d prefer to watch lovely mermaids cavort with our gilled friends in the 117,000 gallon aquarium of the Silverton Hotel’s Mermaid Lounge. The effect is mesmeric and the price is right – free!

More than 400,000 people are expected in town April 23-25 to witness the annual rite of passage for college players into the pros. According to news reports, the NFL Draft will be worthy of a Las Vegas production. Draft prospects will be ferried by boat to a stage at the Fountains of Bellagio and introduced one by one.

The celebration — at the NFL Draft red carpet, main stage and NFL Draft Experience — will include immersive activities, live entertainment and performances, the league said. All events are free and open to the public.

The main stage will be next to the Caesars Forum conference center, where fans can watch the draft selections. The Las Vegas Raiders – how does that sound? – have seven picks in the draft, including picks No. 12 and 19 in the first round and five in the initial three rounds. This is the NFL as only Las Vegas can do it!

For fans of the two teams playing for the championship of professional football on Feb. 2, the Big Game is a culmination of a season’s or lifetime’s worth of devotion. Hopes and dreams of vicarious glory are fulfilled or dashed depending on which side of the scoreboard your rooting interest falls.

For everyone else, it’s all about the money.

The Big Game is the most heavily wagered sporting contest in the nation if not the world; people come to Las Vegas from all over to lay down their cash and hope for a bountiful return on investment. While bets on the point spread, money line and over/under commonly cross the sportsbook window, over the years prop bets have gained in popularity among the (especially low stakes) wagering public.

The appeal of prop bets lies in their ubiquity and quirky character. Bettors can wager on hundreds of propositions ranging from the game-centric (which team or player will score first?) to the exotic (will the national anthem take more or less than two minutes?). The arbitrarily chosen figure comes at a steep price: The San Francisco player who wears No. 31, running back Raheem Mostert, is a touchdown machine who crossed the goal line four times in his last game.

Christmas lights are almost redundant in a place like Las Vegas, the eternally glowing city whose preternatural radiance is visible even from outer space. Nevertheless, the holidays are a festive time in the Entertainment Capital of the World, and the city feverishly celebrates the occasion with seasonal events that are fun for the whole family.

If you’re spending Christmas with us at sunny Club de Soleil, a French Mediterranean-themed property just minutes from the world famous Las Vegas Strip, you should take the time to sample the many wondrous attractions throughout the city – attractions that belie the notion of Las Vegas as nothing but an adult playground.

LAS VEGAS STRIP

Bellagio Fountains and Conservatory

The dancing waters outside the Bellagio, just three miles from Club de Soleil on the Las Vegas Strip, put on a special holiday show featuring classic holiday tunes on the half and quarter hours throughout the Christmas season. While you’re there, step inside the hotel and marvel at the awe-inspiring Christmas display at the Bellagio Conservatory. It’s a spectacular winter wonderland that features abundant lights, poinsettias and a 40-foot Christmas tree!

Cosmo, Mandalay Bay, LINQ

While you’re on the Strip be sure to take in the holiday attractions at the Cosmopolitan, Mandalay Bay and the LINQ. Nothing is more emblematic of the holiday season than the Cosmopolitan’s rooftop ice skating rink overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. You’ll find fire pits, plenty of places to sit, and a menu of warm cocktails, comfort foods and hot chocolate. Snow showers fall every 30 minutes to complement the wintry holiday atmosphere. There is also a 65-foot digital marquee showing holiday movies while skaters navigate the 4,200-square foot rink.

ARIA

The sweetest holiday attraction on the Strip resides at Aria, in whose lobby resides a 15-foot tall gingerbread house. The three-tiered display is seven feet wide, 12 feet deep and is comprised of more than 400 pounds of gingerbread in addition to more than 60,000 peppermints, 200 pounds of icing, 80 pounds of chocolate and more than 1,000 pounds of candy. It is accompanied by a 5-foot-tall gingerbread man who tips the scales at a svelte 120 pounds. Please resist the temptation to sample. The gingerbread house is for viewing only.

Venetian and Palazzo

These center Strip sister properties celebrate the holidays with thousands of lights, towering Christmas trees and nightly shows.

The Venetian’s 65-foot-tall Christmas Tree is lit with 50,000 programmable LED lights, adorned with more than 5,000 ornaments and weighs more than 12,000 pounds. It takes approximately 12 people nearly three days to install.

The Palazzo’s winter gardens feature white poinsettias, ice branches and glittering frosted trees courtesy of the resort’s horticulture team. Hand-crafted white and pearl peacock statues overlook the guests.

Wynn

Not to be outdone, the neighboring Wynn celebrates the season with festive activities and events throughout the resort.

CELEBRATE LIKE A LOCAL

Ethel M Chocolates Holiday Cactus Garden

Located in suburban Henderson, about 13 miles east of Club de Soleil, Ethel M Chocolates Holiday Cactus Garden is one of Las Vegas’ favorite holiday attractions. The three-acre Botanical Cactus Garden, adjacent to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory, is a sight to behold during the holiday season and features more than one million lights. Open through January 1, 2020, the annual event is free to attend. Visit us on select nights for choir performances in the garden and photos with Santa.

The Magical Forest at Opportunity Village

Celebrate the holidays with a cherished Southern Nevada tradition – the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village! The Magical Forest, approximately five miles north of Club de Soleil, is filled with sparkling lights, nightly entertainment, great food and endless holiday cheer. Every year through Dec. 31 Opportunity Village’s Las Vegas grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland, featuring hundreds of trees lit with millions of bright LED lights and fun activities. Mystic Falls Park Light and Water Show

Every year Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, approximately 12 miles east of the Strip on Boulder Highway, transforms its pioneer-themed Mystic Falls Park Light and Water Show into a Winter Wonderland experience. The holiday display gives visitors a peek inside Santa’s workshop, where the elves are busy making toys and loading the sleigh. A nine-minute holiday laser light show features classic holiday tunes and runs daily every hour.

As the undisputed Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas offers its 42 million annual visitors an abundance of activities unrivaled anywhere on the planet. Unsurprisingly, there is an upside and a downside to this cavalcade of entertainment opportunities. The downside? You can easily break your budget if you’re not paying attention. Let’s start with ways to save on hotel room rates. There is no reason to pay full price if you’re willing to make a few simple concessions. First, consider a midweek visit when room rates are ridiculously affordable at even the high end Strip properties.

Next, consider sharing a room and splitting the cost. Also, make sure to investigate promotions on your hotel’s website. You can often find free buffet passes, show tickets and nightclub line passes in addition to other generous discounts.

You should also join a hotel’s gaming club for immediate access to discounted room rates and exclusive promotions. If you live in Las Vegas, be sure take advantage of generous rates for local residents.

RESTAURANTS

You can score discount eats at many Las Vegas restaurants through Groupon, Travelzoo and DestinationCoupons. Another way to save on food is to take advantage of pre-show dinner pricing. Many Las Vegas hotel restaurants offer a pre-show menu offering great food at a discount price. Patronizing restaurants during happy hour and reverse happy hour is another good way to save on meals.

Buffets, as emblematic of Las Vegas as showgirls and slot machines, can offer great value for the devious. For instance, if you want to attend a dinner buffet and not pay the higher asking price, go to the cheaper lunch buffet and intentionally slow-eat your way toward the dinner hour, when the buffet staff substitutes the lunch items for the high-end dinner fare. You’ll save yourself a lot of dough and give new meaning to the phrase “all you can eat.”

Joining a hotel’s gaming rewards program and eating in a hotel’s food court are two other good ways to save on food during your Las Vegas visit.

SHOW TICKETS

You can’t come to Vegas and not see a show. Unfortunately, tickets for many of the popular shows can cost you more than $100 per person. Here are ways to save:

Stop by a Tix4Tonight booth the day of the show and receive a 50 percent discount! It is advisable to arrive early in order to avoid the typically long lines.

Book online at the show’s official website. It’s where you’ll typically find the cheapest prices. Also, be sure to click on the hotel’s “Offers” tab under its show listing for exclusive deals.

Hotel guests are also eligible for discounted show tickets, so be sure to check what’s playing at your resort.

NIGHTCLUBS

Nightclubs in Las Vegas are as ubiquitous as buffets, and harder to get into. Mile-long lines greet you at the door on any given weekend night, and you can spend a guilt-inducing fortune on admission and bottle service if you don’t know the ins and outs and the ways around. First things first: get a V Card nightlife pass. You’ll avoid the lines and the cover charge and receive VIP access to more than 30 of Las Vegas’ most popular nightclubs and day clubs.

Females are advised to seek out club promoters for free vouchers to Las Vegas nightclubs. Promoters are highly visible on the Strip and typically wear the club’s T-shirt for easy identification. Another savvy move is to Google VIP Hosts in Vegas on Instagram and Twitter. They will get you onto the wait list if you text or call them by 8 p.m. Another effective tack if you are a group of girls is to ask the host if a group of guys with a table is looking for female company. The host will either pair the girls and guys in line to expedite the wait or send the girls directly to the guys’ table. You can also gain free entry into the hotel’s nightclub by eating in the hotel’s restaurant.

ATTRACTIONS

Procuring a Las Vegas Explorer Pass allows you to visit up to seven of the most popular Las Vegas attractions for one low price. The Las Vegas Explorer Pass will grant you discount admission to the High Roller observation wheel, Madame Tussauds, Hoover Dam, the Stratosphere Hotel observation deck, and VEGAS! It is with great pleasure that we acknowledge two of our own for earning top honors at the 2019 Stars of the Industry Awards Gala Oct. 17 in Las Vegas. Chris Breed, Vice President of Operations for Soleil Management, won the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award. Dave Campbell, Tahiti Village Recreation Services Manager, took home the award for Management Professional of the Year.

The event, sponsored by the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association and held annually in Las Vegas, celebrates exceptional professionalism and outstanding service of top individuals in the hospitality industry.

Chris joined the company in 2017 and served as Tahiti Village general manager until her promotion to Soleil Management VP of Operations in 2018. She is an active participant in our company’s community volunteer efforts and was appointed Vice Chairman of the Nevada Hotel and Lodging Association in 2019.

“I was completely surprised to be chosen to receive this award,” Chris said. “The work that the NHLA takes on for the state is so beneficial. Assisting our emerging leaders through workshops, mentoring and networking is our responsibility, and something that I am personally passionate about and will continue doing as long as they will have me.”

Dave has overseen Tahiti Village’s recreation department since joining the company in 2016. He is responsible for putting in place many of the poolside activities and events our guests presently enjoy. Like Chris, Dave is also an enthusiastic participant in our company’s charitable events, particularly as they relate to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada.

“Being nominated for this award was an honor itself, but to be selected is something I never would have thought possible as it relates to my career,” Dave said. “The NHLA is a great organization that provides individuals opportunities beyond their roles at work, and that is something I am grateful for. I have been working with young adults for over a decade, and I have learned two very important things:

Each day is something different that continues to shape the way I speak with individuals about work and their personal life.

If you have young adults on the team who are quick to voice their thoughts or introduce change, invest in them however you can. They are the ones saying, `Hey, I think this can be done better’ or `I don’t like the way this is going.’ These are the individuals who are taking the risk to stand out among their peers in a group that is quick to judge.

“I am humbled by this and will continue to pay it forward.”

Nominees are chosen based on their length of service, their outstanding service skills as well their community involvement. Many are nominated by their leaders, however many are also nominated by peers. Winners are determined through a voting process and kept top secret until the awards ceremony.

Based on the submitted criteria, a winner is chosen in each of 20 categories. Their identities are kept top secret until the night of the gala. The program lists every nominee and the slide show also shows each nominee, giving everyone the chance to recognize and thank these extraordinary people for their exceptional service.

The 9^th Annual Stars of the Industry Awards Gala (SOTI) will take place on October 17 from 6-9 p.m. at Mandalay Bay. Best of luck to all our nominees.

Honoring our shining stars

Housekeepers and maintenance engineers are the backbone of any resort operation. Here at Club de Soleil, a sunny French Mediterranean-style property near the world famous Las Vegas Strip, we took the opportunity recently to celebrate their hard work with a day a food, fun and recognition. Nearly 20 of our most valuable team members gathered on the Club 1 tennis court, where they participated in a series of contests that tested their steadiness, challenged their precision and relieved them of their senses.

“Thank you for taking the time to join us for our celebration,” assistant general manager Thomas Price told the assembled prior to the competition. “We appreciate what you do here every day and extend our sincere gratitude to you for your hard work and dedication. I am constantly amazed by your ability to keep smiling and maintain a positive attitude, so it is with great pleasure that we hold this special day for you.”

Splitting into two teams for each event, the participants competed in what may be termed a Housekeeper Olympics, where the winners earned gold-colored medals, the accolades of their peers and bragging rights for an entire year.

SHAKY TRAY RELAY RACE

First to test their skill was the four-person Shaky Tray Relay Race, a nervy balance exercise that required each contestant to carry a tray of wobbly shower amenities from the tennis court baseline to a partner standing at the net. That individual in turn would retrace the steps back to the baseline and hand off the tray to another waiting teammate. If the contents of the tray spilled before each carrier reached the desired destination, the individual was required to return to the original starting point, reset the amenities and try again, meanwhile falling ever farther behind. This was repeated four times until the team with the steadiest gate crossed the finish line first without a spill.

WILD WILD WASHCLOTH

Next was the Wild Wild Washcloth, a pressure-packed exercise in fast folding aptitude where the winners were judged to have folded the most towels in three minutes. The catch? Each folded washcloth had to meet a strict set of guidelines as determined by management, which was as follows:

Guideline 1: the label must hidden.
Guideline 2: the fluffy ends must be visible on both sides.

Folded towels that did not conform to these exacting standards were disqualified.

Lastly, Can’t See Sheet was an object lesson in ocular independence. For this event, two teams of two blindfolded participants stood face to face holding an outstretched bed sheet. The team to fold it neat, fold it fast and fold it first was declared the winner.
