Not many people think about housekeepers when they enter a hotel or resort, but housekeeping and maintenance is one of the most difficult jobs there is. Lots of hard work goes into making sure rooms and suites are tidy, clean and safe for guests to stay in. Thanks to our Housekeepers and Maintenance crew, your rooms are just that.
Since 1981, showing appreciation for housekeepers and maintenance workers has become a sponsored holiday where companies often spend the entire week honoring their hard work and dedication to guests.
Eva Rodriguez is the Housekeeping Director for Club de Soleil and has been working in the hospitality industry for 25 years. For her this is a very important week for the industry as housekeeping and maintenance is the backbone of the resort and deserves to be recognized.
“This week means everything to me. I do recognize my entire team every single day because being a housekeeper is a very hard job and takes dedication,” said Rodriguez.
This year due to COVID-19, Housekeeping week looked a little bit different than previous years. However, we were still able to do fun things and give goodies to show our appreciation for housekeepers and maintenance staff!
We know that next year will be better than ever and we look forward to showing our appreciation to our amazing staff not just this one week but every day of the year. The next time you see a housekeeper or a maintenance worker give them a socially distanced wave or a smile.

However …
What if you’re the type whose tastes run towards the unconventional, the unpredictable, the unapologetically offbeat? Can you still have a good time in Vegas?
The answer is a resounding yes. You just have to know where to look. Don’t worry about knowing where to start. Here at Club de Soleil, a sunny French Mediterranean vacation ownership property just three miles from the world famous Las Vegas Strip, we’ve done the research for you. Enjoy!
Described as a giant sandbox for grown-ups, Dig This lets you live out your heavy equipment-operating fantasies in bulldozers and excavators. Following a 30-minute training and orientation session, guests can dig trenches or build large earthen mounds. There are also skill tests, like moving humongous tires or deftly plucking basketballs from their resting place on top of safety cones. Feel what it’s like to be a real construction worker!
Tired of living life in the slow lane? Get behind the wheel of a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Corvette at Speed Vegas and put the pedal to the metal. Feel the raw power and precise handling of a fire breathing supercar with a thrilling driving experience on one of Las Vegas’s longest racetracks. What a rush!
Mechanical horse racing machines were once a common site at Las Vegas’ free standing race book gambling emporiums, but now there is only one left in the city. Found on the second floor of the D Las Vegas on Fremont Street, the quarter-operated Sigma Derby Machine allows bettors to book action on five mechanical horses. Betting odds range from 2-1 to 200-1. Once you’ve selected your horse, you have 30 seconds to put in your quarter. Then it’s off to the races!
Housed in a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a prominent Las Vegas businessman and his family, Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum is a storehouse of the weird and macabre the Ghost Adventures personality has acquired traveling the world for his popular Travel Channel show. Take the mandatory guided tour and see Zak’s “possessions,” some of which are allegedly haunted. The collection even includes personal effects once belonging to infamous serial killers. Visitors beware: The once-abandoned house may still harbor evil spirits and was allegedly the site of satanic rituals in the basement. How many times do we have to say it? Don’t go in the basement!
This private horse ranch and equestrian center offers a whimsical visual feast just 20 minutes northwest of downtown Las Vegas. Sheet metal cowboys and cowgirls sit atop various structures, bombs and cutout metal flowers decorate the side gate, silhouettes of horses and sunflowers dot the fences and interior buildings, and old farm implements and horseshoes have been repurposed for maximum esthetic appeal. Built in 1961, the once far-flung stables have been reeled in and overtaken by the city. They are a reminder of a time when Las Vegas was not the runaway metropolis it has become, but an open desert with a patchwork population.
Art to some, painted rocks to others, Seven Magic Mountains is a series of stacked neon boulders that rise some 35 feet above the desert floor 20 minutes south of Las Vegas. Like all public works of art, Seven Magic Mountains is in the eye of the boulder – er, beholder.

More than 400,000 people are expected in town April 23-25 to witness the annual rite of passage for college players into the pros. According to news reports, the NFL Draft will be worthy of a Las Vegas production. Draft prospects will be ferried by boat to a stage at the Fountains of Bellagio and introduced one by one.
The celebration — at the NFL Draft red carpet, main stage and NFL Draft Experience — will include immersive activities, live entertainment and performances, the league said. All events are free and open to the public.
The main stage will be next to the Caesars Forum conference center, where fans can watch the draft selections. The Las Vegas Raiders – how does that sound? – have seven picks in the draft, including picks No. 12 and 19 in the first round and five in the initial three rounds. This is the NFL as only Las Vegas can do it!
The biggest sporting event of the year is upon us.
For fans of the two teams playing for the championship of professional football on Feb. 2, the Big Game is a culmination of a season’s or lifetime’s worth of devotion. Hopes and dreams of vicarious glory are fulfilled or dashed depending on which side of the scoreboard your rooting interest falls.
For everyone else, it’s all about the money.
The Big Game is the most heavily wagered sporting contest in the nation if not the world; people come to Las Vegas from all over to lay down their cash and hope for a bountiful return on investment. While bets on the point spread, money line and over/under commonly cross the sportsbook window, over the years prop bets have gained in popularity among the (especially low stakes) wagering public.
The appeal of prop bets lies in their ubiquity and quirky character. Bettors can wager on hundreds of propositions ranging from the game-centric (which team or player will score first?) to the exotic (will the national anthem take more or less than two minutes?). Please click here to see a comprehensive list of prop bets for this year’s Big Game.
What follows are some of our favorites (and some we would like to see offered). If you’re fuzzy on sports betting terminology and wondering what the plus and minus figures are, they are the money line totals. For instance, plus 300 means you have to bet $100 to win $300 (or $10 to win $30). Minus $500 means you have to bet $500 to win $100 (or $50 to win $10).
OUR FAVORITE BIG GAME PROP BETS
Will the coin toss be heads or tails?
Get your betting day off to a great start with a proposition that gives you a 50-50 chance of success. Yes (Even) No (Even)
Will the singer of the national anthem forget or omit a word?
In other words, will 28-year-old Demi Lovato have a senior moment in front 80,000 people at the game and millions around the world watching on television and streaming devices? Yes (+300) No (-500)
Jersey number of the first player to score a touchdown.
The two numerals before the decimal point in the 31.5 over-under figure below indicate a player number. Taking the over means you’re betting that a player wearing a jersey number higher than 31 scores the first touchdown. Taking the under means you’re betting that a player wearing jersey number 31 or less than 31 scores the first touchdown. The arbitrarily chosen figure comes at a steep price: The San Francisco player who wears No. 31, running back Raheem Mostert, is a touchdown machine who crossed the goal line four times in his last game. Over 31.5 (+140) Under 31.5 (-400)
Will both teams score in all four quarters?
A yes means you think the 49ers and Chiefs will score a touchdown, field goal or safety in every quarter. Even with offenses as explosive as Kansas City and San Francisco’s, this is a lot to ask. Yes (+140) No (-270)
Will there be overtime?
Only one previous Big Game has extended beyond four quarters. That was in 2017, when Tom Brady famously led the Patriots back from a 28-3 third quarter deficit against the Falcons, tied the game in regulation, and won it in overtime. Yes (+350) No (-375)
Will San Francisco coach Kyle Shanahan blow another 28-3 lead in the third quarter? Shanahan was offensive coordinator of the Falcons in their unprecedented Big Game meltdown against the Patriots. His play calling was widely criticized and largely blamed for Atlanta’s historic collapse. (Yes +50) (No -2000)
PROP BETS WE’D LIKE TO SEE
Will a player injure himself in celebration and be unable to continue?
This would be a first in Big Game history, which explains the low odds. Injury owing to excessive celebration, though rare, isn’t unheard of. In a regular season game in 2001, an excitable Arizona kicker injured himself when, after converting a field goal, he jumped for joy and blew out his knee on the landing. Yes (-400) No (+120)
Will the referee tossing the coin to determine who gets the ball first mistakenly call tails if it lands heads or vice versa?
This actually happened during a regular season Thanksgiving Day game a number of years ago. What will it be next, reviewing the coin toss? Yes (+500) No (-400)
