Preparing for the Big Game: A foodie’s guide to goodness

You'll enjoy the Big Game that much more if you a little advance food planning.
You’ll enjoy the Big Game that much more if you a little advance food planning.

You have made the wise choice to watch the Big Game this Sunday during your stay at Club de Soleil, so let’s talk about how to best prepare for this classic gridiron match-up.

Luxury suite – check. Full kitchen in the suite – check. Crystal clear, flat-screen TV in the room with cozy couch aimed right at the action – check. And the countdown to game time is just hours away. What should you do at this point to prepare for the Big Game in style, all while realizing that you’re still trying to relax in the heart of Las Vegas?

Turns out, it won’t take too much effort to pull off the ultimate football-themed event, with plenty of time left over before kickoff. Here are some quick and easy food ideas to help you prep for the game without a lot of fuss:

  1. Pepperoni Cheesy Bread: This incredibly simply recipe is easy to prep and cooks in the oven in just 20 minutes. Don’t worry about overloaded pizza delivery guys this coming Sunday. Cook your own fresh and savory cheesy bread right in your suite.
  1. Buffalo/BBQ Chicken Tenders: Cook quality store bought chicken tenders in the oven, toss with your favorite hot sauce or BBQ sauce, put out a bowl of chilled ranch or blue cheese dressing, and watch as your companions dive right in during the game.
  1. Everything Bagel Dogs: Bagels + hot dogs + cream cheese creates a match made in sports food heaven. Trust us, this recipe is so simple you’ll wonder why you never made it at home before. And, it is a wildly popular game day treat for kids and adults, alike. See for yourself how easy it is to make these pigs in a blanket-like snacks!
  1. Loaded BBQ Fries: Imagine French fries smothered in tomatoes, onion, BBQ sauce, pulled pork, cheese, and more. It’s incredibly easy to make, too, so you won’t miss any of the pre-game action while preparing this dish. Grab all the ingredients at the store, combine, and bake. Once done it will smell heavenly and you may have to make a second batch to keep hungry game fans happy.
  1. Chicken and Waffle Sliders: We suggest keeping things simple and buying the mini waffles from the store, cooking a bag of chicken tenders, drizzling on a little syrup, and calling it good to go. Keep it simple so you’re not spending all day in the kitchen!
  1. French Dip Sliders: Meat, bread, dipping sauce. Need we say more? Ensure you create the ultimate French Dip sliders for your Big Game table spread.

Get ready for football this weekend by hosting your own in-suite party. Regardless of who you and your guests are cheering for, it’s never a bad game when the food is tasty and it keeps on coming.

The folks over at the legendary Ethel M Chocolate factory sure think so, and they deliver a fun and whimsical take on the traditional Christmas decoration philosophy. Check out the lights, then stick around and try some of their handmade chocolates.

 Ride The High Roller

The iconic High Roller Ferris wheel, the largest in the world, gets the full holiday treatment during the Christmas season as it is embellished with almost 2,000 vivid LED lights. What to Know About Las Vegas’ Premium Outlet Malls

Las Vegas is famous for its towering casinos, 24/7 gambling, and glittery shows. With its bright lights, the extravagant entertainment, and never-ending cocktails, Las Vegas is certainly a “grown-up” amusement park filled with exotic and diverse attractions. However, another obsession is burning bright in the desert – one that pulls visitors in from around the world.  Shopping!

Home of two expansive premium outlet malls, Las Vegas represents an exciting pilgrimage for shoppers of every age and style. Here’s what you need to know about Las Vegas’ Premium Outlet Malls to maximize your shopping adventure the next time you’re at Club de Soleil!

Bringing Fashion to the Desert

In 2003, mega retail trust Simon Property Group unveiled their 435,000 sq. ft. Premium Outlet Mall, which is now known as North Premium Outlets. A thriving success and iconic Las Vegas tourist and local favorite, the outlet was expanded to 540,000 sq. ft. in 2008 and was then fully remodeled in 2011. Adding convenience for shoppers, the Premium Outlet Mall now has two locations in Las Vegas – offering a diverse experience with numerous unique brands.

North Premium Outlets

Las Vegas Premium Outlets North is located in the hot and newly revitalized Downtown Las Vegas area. Just minutes off the famed Strip, the North Outlet is easily accessible from I-15, Exit 41B – Charleston Boulevard. Near the trendy and bustling Fremont Street Experience, this hugely popular shopping destination is easily accessible by taxi and public transit. An outdoor mall – the North Premium Outlets feature misters to help combat the Vegas summer heat. A newly added Cheesecake Factory adds a delicious food stop, amidst the 40 acres of retailers and shops.

Shop till you drop at the North Outlets, which features 175 outlet stores – ranging from high-end brands like Kate Spade and Michael Kors to popular retailers like Ann Taylor and Hot Topic. Enjoy the leisurely vibe and close proximity to downtown Las Vegas.

South Premium Outlets

A mere eight miles from the North Premium Outlets is the second of Las Vegas’ famous outlets – the South Premium Outlets. Located less than three miles from the Strip, the South Outlets are easily accessible from I-15 and I-215. Slightly south of the center of Las Vegas, the South Premium Outlets serve vacationers, as well as the surrounding neighbors of Henderson.

This beautiful indoor, climate-controlled outlet features 140 stores and shops and a newly renovated outdoor walkway and retail center. Scattered throughout the indoor outlet are fast food and “food court” style offers – ensuring you keep up your energy and hydration for more hours of strolling and shopping.

Las Vegas: Outlet Shopping Destination

Vegas offers so much more than gambling! Shop some of the most desired and renowned names in fashion – all at outlet prices. You might want to bring another suitcase to travel home with all of your amazing outlet finds!

Lobby Waiting Area

Vacation ownership at Club now an even greater value

Club 2’s gorgeous lobby

An increase in lodging rates in 2015 – up more than 18 percent over the previous year owing to a rise in travel frequency – now more than ever underscores the value of vacation ownership.

Consistency of cost is a timeshare hallmark, and while hotel room pricing rose to an average of $102.64 per night in 2015 from $86.55 in 2014, your vacation club remained unaffected by market trends and subsequent supply and demand economics.

Ownership means you are never subject to the unpredictable pricing practices of opportunistic Las Vegas hotels, whose rates rise exorbitantly with each UFC event, mega boxing match or New Year’s Eve weekend.

Conversely, the cost of timeshare ownership remains steady and affordable, with property upkeep through the responsible application of maintenance fees the primary objective – not the wringing of every last dime out of the consumer.

As you’ve discovered, timeshare ownership at Club de Soleil a great bet, and we are humbled and honored to count you among our vacation club members. We take seriously our responsibility to provide you with a beautifully maintained property and look forward to helping you make wonderful vacation memories year after year.

Remodel has given Club 2 lobby a fresh new look

What a difference!

When we asked him to put some pizzazz in our Club 2 lobby, interior designer Ron Nicola accepted the project with a single goal in mind.

“Regardless of the property I design,” he said, “I want everyone to experience a WOW moment when they see the finished product.”

Interior designer Ron Nicola

Mission accomplished, Ron. Mission accomplished.

Club 2’s lobby received a comprehensive makeover that has transformed its appearance from dark and dated to bright and contemporary. Enhancements include fresh paint and new furniture, drapery, and artwork. Ron also added area rugs and pillows with accent colors to the couches and chairs and gave the fireplace an updated look with new paint, tile and doors.

Applications of white paint to dark wood, gray paint to yellow walls, and still more white to ceiling and floor trim significantly lightened the interior space to  great effect.

“I wanted the design of the lobby to be current, with the feel of walking into a peaceful and relaxing sitting room,” Ron said, explaining that great design is all in the details.

“Dramatic flair is what I’m all about. The burst of color against the more neutral gray palette and white woods gives a fun, young, and exciting vibe. I wanted the owners to feel a more personable décor and design, not just another commercial lobby.”

We think he succeeded and hope you will agree!

Sit down and stay awhile.
